Franz Weber

A painter is familiar with the colours, more than that: they are his friends. They have such wonderful names as ultramarine blue, fiery chrome oxide, Terra di Pozzuoli, Naples yellow... The colours hiss, vibrate, whistle, hum when the painter lets them out of the dark tube and into the daylight. On the canvas they immediately engage in dialogue with each other, feeling closeness or strangeness, but they like to work together. They create the picture light, open up spaces that could not be felt before. The visible is the manifestation of the invisible, or as someone once aptly said: In art, everything inside is outside.
